Fusion WOL
Fusion Wol is a great little program for turning on dormant machines and servers on a local area network. as long as your network card on the machines you want to turn on supports Wake On Lan (which most do) and your network card proporties allow that network card to wake the machine you can use this program to full excess. All you need is the IP or MAC address of the destination machine. This is by far the simpelest version of a "Magic Packet" program I have even encountered.

LANguard is probably one of the best, if not the best network scanning and information tools you can find for free. It allows you to not only scan your network, but do it from a Hackers perspective. It will identify all machines on your network, their Netbios info, open ports, shares and much more.
